Need for Speed Underground 2 -also known as NFS- is a sequel of the popular street car racing game from the same franchise.
The most remarkable difference, compared to the previous edition, Need for Speed Underground, is the possibility of highly personalizing the car as you prefer without having to download patches.
As we already said, this game consists in street car racing . The action of the PC video game is set in the fictitious city of Bayview, which has five different neighborhoods.
Gameplay of NFS Underground 2
The key of the free trial of Need for Speed Underground 2 is to complete every race arriving in the first position. In order to achieve that, you will have to beat all your opponents who drive around the streets of this big metropolis.
This time, the PC game comes with different upgrades which improve graphics and sound effects and integrate new game modes, among others.
As we already mentioned, this edition includes some improvements. For example, it gives you more tuning options and control over your vehicle. This way, you can customize the interior and the exterior of the car with a great level of detail.
Besides, it offers eight competition modes and there are three game modes. In relation to the graphics, this sequel has improved them. However, they are still a bit weak and look a bit pixelated.

Need for Speed: Underground 2 is a car racing game that lets you customize your chosen racing machine and upgrade it as your career progresses. I’ve been playing NFS Underground 2 and it really is an upgraded version of the original NFS Underground. You’ll encounter several types of races, which include a standard circuit race, a sprint race, drag racing, drifting and the Underground Racing League.
Need for Speed Underground lets users customize their vehicles prior to racing, and more options will be unlocked as the player’s career progresses. You’ll be able to modify your racing machine’s wheels, side skirts, spoilers, roof scoops, doors and so much more. There are 3 gaming modes and you can play head on with other human players in multiplayer mode. Game play is truly exciting though you may notice that graphics in newer software are better. The game’s heads up display (HUD) show indicator panels for odometers, nitro boost and location on the racing map. Of course the general objective of this game is to drive faster than any of your opponents.
Overall, Need for Speed: Underground 2 is a perfect software for those interested in the Need for Speed gaming experience.
- Improved gaming features in sound and graphics
- Game has three modes and eight competition modes
- Racing enthusiasts can look around for more advanced racing games features

The action takes place in the fictional Olympic City, where the player must gain his respect and be the best by...well...winning races and be more notorious. The game features many game race mods, such as Knock-Out, Circuit, Sprint, Drag, and Drift. All race types have a different style of racing, especially Drag and Drift, which require the player to push his skills to his limits in certain events if he wants to win. The Career also features a top 10 ranking with the best racers in the town, magazines which can be unlocked by the player by his progress in career, but also for doing certain things. Career also features an option to choose your race difficulty, which everyone has it's own cash reward depending the difficulty you chose. Parts for both visual and performance, and even cars, are unlocked by completing regular events, while is also featured a tournament mod with more stages, in which the player unlocks performance upgrades. The gameplay is great and fun, but also can draw bit of criticism because of the car's handling, which after becoming tuned, the handling is a bit too responsive, and can make you easily crash. Also the city isn't really small so a Free Roam mode is more than welcome, and the gameplay is very linear and many races are repetitive. The visuals aren't bad at all, but certainly could've been better, most of the map props are looking good, while some don't, for instance the traffic cars, which have a terrible amount of detail.
- Great fun for both beginners and pros
- Ability to customize many parts of the vehicles
- Graphics are a bit outdated
- EA stopped providing game support
